For Women Only
Introduction to Light Rifle Shooting Course
 In the interest of helping women learn shooting
skills in a safe and supportive women-only environment,
we offer this four-week, 8-hour course on specified Saturday
mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The course is taught by our Certified NRA Instructors
who cover the areas of light rifles and ammunition, safe
gun handling, rifle sports and activities, and home firearms
safety.
Participants have the opportunity to participate
in hands-on light rifle target shooting, at which time
our Certified NRA Range Safety Officers are in attendance
on the firing line.
Rifles are provided at no charge or you may
bring your own – .22 caliber only. Ammo (for which
there is a nominal charge) must be purchased at the range.
Please note:
- Pre-registration is required.
- Attendees must be 18 years
old or older.
- You absolutely do not need
any prior firearm knowledge or experience to take this
course.
- The course fee is $60.00.
- The Coyne Park Range does
not schedule these courses, which normally are given several
times a year; they are scheduled by the Yonkers Department
of Parks, Recreation, and Conservation. We post the
dates of these courses on the range website and once
the information is made available to us.
